Q10 is a vitamin-like substance found in all our cells. Like an enzyme, it influences and catalyses biochemical reactions and contributes to the continuous production of energy required by the human body.
Since the heart and liver in particular have a constant high demand for energy, these organs can be supported by a combination of coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E.
Apart from its role in energy production, Q10 is a powerful antioxidant, similar to vitamin E. Q10 protects lipids (including those in cell membranes) from free radicals, thereby helping to maintain healthy cells and tissues.
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that has a beneficial effect on the heart and can also support heart health and vitality. As an antioxidant, it is also important for protecting polyunsaturated fatty acids (the “good” fats) against oxidation by free radicals.
